Village Board Endorses Welcoming and Inclusive Community Pledge

Recognizing that Glencoe is home to approximately 9,000 residents of diverse backgrounds, histories and identities, Village President Larry Levin and the Village Board of Trustees passed a resolution endorsing the Welcoming and Inclusive Community Pledge at last night’s Village Board meeting.

The Village invites you to take the pledge online or to sign it in-person at Village Hall and other community locations. Learn about Public Safety's commitment to a Welcoming and Inclusive Community from Public Safety Director Cary Lewandowski's recent message.

Early Voting: Monday, March 20-Monday, April 3
Election Day: 6 a.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 4 

Cast your ballot for Village President and Village Board Trustees, Park District Board Commissioners, Library Board Trustees, School District 35 Board Members, New Trier Township High School Board Members, Oakton Community College Trustees and New Trier Township  Supervisor, Clerk, Assessor and Trustees.

Mary Saikin Promoted to Deputy Chief

Public Safety is proud to announce that Lieutenant Mary Saikin will be promoted to Deputy Chief of the Fire/EMS component in April. Lieutenant Saikin has been with the Village since 1997 and brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of public safety, her passion and energy will be vital as we undertake new initiatives in the coming year. Please join the Village in congratulating Mary for this well-deserved promotion. 

A formal swearing-in ceremony is tentatively scheduled for the April 20 Village Board meeting.

Historic Preservation Commission Update

Per the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission, the Village Board has designated 411 Lakeside Terrace, designed by prominent architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, as an honorary landmark. This designation is another step the Commission has taken toward helping residents to preserve the integrity of their historic homes.
